As high-profile Blackheath Estate Agents, we’ve offered and consistently provided our full complement of services throughout the local area for over 30 years.
Blackheath is charming, pretty and known as one of London’s most welcoming neighbourhoods. It is set around the historic windswept heath, and lies in the borough of Lewisham and borders of Greenwich. There are good railway connections
into Charing Cross and London Bridge, but no underground service.
The name ‘Blackheath’ came about because the heath appeared a darker colour than the green fields beside the Thames which it overlooked, and contrary to local belief, the name has nothing to do with the plague or Black Death.
The heath has huge sporting historical significance, being most famous for Blackheath rugby club which was founded in 1858 and still exists on the heath today. It’s where the London Marathon starts, and the heath is a popular spot with kite flyers, dogs and wind-skateboarders. You can also find a music festival and fun fairs, plus the distinctive All Saints Parish Church.
Blackheath has a strong sense of community and a typical London Village feel, much like its close neighbour Greenwich. There are many restaurants, bars and retail areas within its surroundings, and is a hugely popular spot where you'll see al fresco diners lining the village. Pricey Victorian terraces can be found nearing the town centre, whilst family homes can be found by the Heath.
There are many schools
, including primary and secondary, special schools, religious schools and grammar schools. Ofsted ratings have been generally positive with plenty attaining ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ scores.
The community spirit makes Blackheath an attractive place to live. If you’re looking to find out the value of your home, to purchase, to sell or to rent a property then our highly motivated teams would love to help.
