Bromley-by-Bow, historically and officially Bromley, is an inner-city district in East London, mostly in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets with a smaller part in the London Borough of Newham.
The local London Underground station was renamed as Bromley-by-Bow to distinguish it from the stations at Bromley in the London Borough of Bromley. Over time the station's name has extended to the area itself and today it is nearly always known as Bromley-by-Bow. The River Lea and its long-distance footpath Lea Valley Walk between Hertfordshire and Limehouse Basin passes nearby.
Offering good transport connections
Bromley-by-Bow underground station is on the District Line and Hammersmith and City Line in Zones 2 and 3, and London Buses Routes 108 and 488 serve the station.
There are many schools
including primary and secondary, special schools, religious schools and grammar schools. Ofsted ratings have been generally positive with many schools attaining ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ scores.
The area has good transport links which make Bromley-by-Bow an attractive place to live. Nestled within a triangle between Stratford, the City and Canary Wharf and is benefitting from development and regeneration as part of the London Olympic legacy.
