As independent Estate Agents in Docklands, we offer and have successfully delivered our full range of services across the surrounding area since 1984.
A considerable amount of London’s historic success has revolved around the city’s Docklands. In the 1690’s the Howland Great Dock was built in Rotherhithe, this provided a large and sheltered port which protected against thieves. The accomplishment of trade from this dock caused expansion in the Georgian and Victorian eras. However, by the 1970’s the industry had moved out to ports with deeper water and in the 1980’s all East End’s major docks had closed. Unemployment soared which caused an increase in social and economic problems.
To combat this, the government started the London Docklands Development Corporation (LDDC) which kickstarted a redevelopment phase and business came back to the area. The continued success has sparked further redevelopments which include Crossrail, a new railway line which will dramatically cut journey times to Central London, Reading and Heathrow Airport.
As well as Crossrail you can find the DLR, bus routes and the Jubilee line which offers connections to London Bridge, Waterloo and Westminster plus more. There are flats and residential buildings, plus many impressive shopping centres which provide plenty of shops and places to eat.
There are many schools
which include primary and secondary, special schools, religious schools and grammar schools. Ofsted ratings have been generally positive with many schools attaining ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ scores.
New developments and excellent transport links
makes Docklands a highly sought place to live. If you’re looking to find out the value of your home, to purchase, to sell or to rent a property then our highly motivated teams would love to help.
