Located in the London Borough of Newham, East Ham is 8 miles northeast of Charing Cross.
East Ham railway station opened in 1859 and the availability of transport to the area increased the population. These days you can find a mixture of cultures with there being a high population of South Asians, African, Caribbean and eastern European residents. This diversity has resulted in an array of restaurants and supermarkets, where you can find delicious food.
Whilst an urbanised area, there are many green spaces including a nature reserve and eight parks. Plashet Park and Central Park are the two largest parks which contain cafes and playgrounds. There are also pretty tree lined streets which have Victorian and Edwardian terraced town houses.
There are plenty of transport options
with District and Hammersmith line running through East Ham and Upton Park. Plus, London city airport is only 15 minutes away by car. The Crossrail
project will bring the Elizabeth Line to two stations within a three-mile radius of East Ham (Custom House and Forest Gate) meaning plenty of options for travel and quicker journey times.
There are many schools
which include primary and secondary, special schools, religious schools and grammar schools. Ofsted ratings have been generally positive with many schools attaining ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ scores.
Quick commuter links and a multicultural community makes East Ham a highly sought place to live. If you’re looking to find out the value of your home, to purchase, to sell or to rent a property then our highly motivated teams would love to help.
