Commuting and transport options are excellent. Poplar DLR station is in Zone 2 and opens fast and frequent links to Canary Wharf, Bank and bustling Stratford. Popular Bartlett Park has seen significant improvements and is a beautiful green space for all to enjoy. In addition, there are stunning views back towards Canary Wharf.
Poplar is home to the famous Billingsgate Fish Market and has close associations with West India Docks, Blackwall Docks, Limehouse and the Isle of Dogs. Much of the original housing built in Poplar provided homes to the local dock workers.
Poplar High Street is central to the area. It's a bustling location that hosts the Chrisp Street market. Canary Wharf, One Canada Square, is due south, and Stratford is to the north. These neighbouring towns offer exciting architecture, plentiful entertainment and retail therapy.
All three areas have seen massive investment and regeneration over recent years. Stratford benefits from the legacy of the Olympic Games in 2012, and Canary Wharf is a high-brow business and financial district. Poplar benefits by being between them.
