Alex Neil were founded over 30 years ago and have accumulated an excellent reputation as SE28 Estate Agents, providing residential sales and lettings services.
SE28 was formed from the existing districts SE2 and SE18 to adjust for the suburb of Thamesmead
, in the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley.
Built on marshland from the 1960’s onwards, Thamesmead is on the south bank of the River Thames and consists of four distinct areas: North, South, West and Central. It is famous for serving as a backdrop in the film A Clockwork Orange
and the TV series Misfits
A grand 30-year programme by Peabody is planning to regenerate the area with a £1 billion investment. The plan expects to double the current population, build as many as 20,000 new homes and generate 20,000 jobs. There will be a high street with a range of shops, cafés, public spaces, gardens and a nursery, gym and library.
Currently there are no underground or surface rail links and residents rely mostly on bus services to get to the nearest stations which are Plumstead, Abbey Wood and Belvedere. However, rejuvenation will also improve transport links to Abbey Wood
for cyclists and pedestrians. Plus, the Crossrail
project will bring the new Elizabeth line to Abbey Wood station where journey times will only take 11 minutes to get to Canary Wharf
, 25 minutes to get into Central London and 51 minutes to travel to Heathrow airport.
There are many schools nearby including primary and secondary, special schools, religious schools and grammar schools. Ofsted ratings have been generally positive with many schools attaining ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ scores.
Exciting new developments makes SE28 an attractive place to live. If you’re looking to find out the value of your home, to purchase, to sell or to rent a property then our highly motivated teams would love to help.
