In 1878, a private station for wealthy local families existed. It was rebuilt at the end of the century and opened for public use as Sundridge Park Station in 1896. While the estate was still private, the future king Edward VII allegedly visited the area multiple times as a guest at game-shooting weekends. One of the area's most notable residents is David Bowie, and he lived here for ten years in the '50s and '60s.
Today's Sundridge Park is a peaceful suburban area with local golf courses and green spaces. Sundridge Park shopping parade neighbours Plaistow Green. Local property is a diverse mixture of Edwardian and Victorian houses with pockets of modern housing and luxury detached homes.
On the grounds of Sundridge Park Golf Course is The Mansion at Sundridge Park. This stunning converted house now forms a selection of luxury apartments.
Sundridge Park station provides services to Bromley North and Grove Park. The latter station operates frequent direct trains to Cannon Street, London Bridge, and Charing Cross. Various bus services also serve Sundridge.
